In late July, an official transfer of the Introductory Artistic Concept of the Project of the Major Museum Exposition took place in the National Museum of Holodomor-Genocide. Ivan Vasiunyk, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, transferred the document on behalf of the International Charity Foundation of the Holodomor Museum to Lesia Hasydzhak, General Director of the Museum.
Members of the Supervisory Board of the Foundation of the Holodomor Museum – His Beatitude Sviatoslav (Shevchuk), Third President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko, Stepan Kubiv, Metropolitan Eustratius, a representative of His Beatitude Epiphany, benefactors, public representatives – participated in the ceremony.
During the event, Viktor Yushchenko granted a letter of appreciation to the Zhebrivsky Family Charitable Foundation for active participation in supporting the national memory of the Holodomor, a genocide of the Ukrainian people in 1932-1933, and for the substantial and decisive charitable contribution to the development of the museum. The assistance donated by the Zhebrivsky Family Charitable Foundation is UAH 10 million.
According to Lesia Hasydzhak, General Director of the Museum, the exposition will lead from a story of the Ukrainian economic potential in early 20th century, and most of the stands will be dedicated to people who saved each other, thanks to which the memory of the Holodomor has been preserved.
Preserving the own history is an important aspect of the national identity, strengthens the bond between generations, and makes the society more conscious.
