The Simulation Centre at P. L. Shupik National Healthcare University of Ukraine has received a valuable addition from the Foundation: advanced training manikins for practising cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills valued at over UAH 240,000.
Specifically, the delivery included:
- 3 adult CPR training manikins
- 1 infant CPR training manikin
- 4 defibrillators
- A CPR training simulator with a performance evaluation function.
This equipment is crucial for training both medical students and practising clinicians. It is on such manikins that first aid skills – which can save lives in critical situations – can be practised safely and as realistically as possible.
“Such materials are extremely valuable for our Centre, as they allow for the realistic practice of necessary skills. The training simulator with the evaluation panel is particularly important. We have never had such a training manikin in our centre before. Its unique feature is that the sensor panel immediately shows how correctly the action is being performed, as it is not always possible to assess this accurately from the side. We plan to use it both during training and for examinations,” Svitlana Dziuniak, a specialist at the Simulation Centre of P. L. Shupik National Healthcare University of Ukraine noted.
Knowledge of first aid can save lives.
Such equipment is quite scarce for educational institutions, so this donation from the Foundation will contribute significantly to the training of medical professionals.
