Last week, on the International Volunteer Day, the management of the Zhebrivsky Family Charitable Foundation and the Kyiv private clinic met with volunteers who visit severely wounded soldiers undergoing rehabilitation*.
For 1.5 years now, Farmak employees and other concerned people who joined the volunteer team have been visiting the wounded defenders undergoing rehabilitation. In particular, they take care of those who do not have family or friends who can help. Volunteers organize events that allow soldiers who cannot leave the clinic on their own to go outdoors, visit the theater, and simply distract themselves and socialize. They take care of the defenders even after discharge, visiting them even in other cities.
For a person, physical rehabilitation is only one of the steps to recovery. Moral support and faith of the family and friends who help them go through this journey to the end is equally important.
The defenders have changed a lot over this period under the care of the volunteers. A year ago, some of the patients were bedridden and unable to eat on their own, and today they are already walking and even starting to play sports. The patients have a desire to do something and recover, and they have faith. Thanks to the dedication of our volunteers, people’s lives are truly changing.
The meeting discussed the success stories of those patients who have already recovered, organized events for the defenders and the challenges they face.
We sincerely thank all the volunteers who are doing the impossible today. Thank you for your concern in creating a better society for all.
*The Zhebrivsky Family Charitable Foundation is financing the Program “Rehabilitation of Patients with Severe Physical Challenges” for the military personnel in one of Kyiv private clinics. Farmak employees have joined the volunteer assistance to these soldiers.
