The Zhebrovsky Family Charitable Foundation continues its systematic support of healthcare institutions. Last week marked the opening of a new operating unit within the Department of Microsurgery and Reconstructive Surgery of the Upper Limb at the Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine. With the Foundation’s support, the facility underwent comprehensive reconstruction and major renovation, including the installation of a modern ventilation system. The total amount of assistance exceeded UAH 5.3 million.
The new unit includes a preoperative preparation room, an operating theatre, and auxiliary facilities. The operating theatre is equipped with a state-of-the-art supply-and-exhaust ventilation system that ensures air purification, pressure control, and a sterile environment.
The launch of the new operating unit will make it possible to double the number of surgical procedures performed by the department – an especially critical improvement during wartime, when the number of patients with traumatic injuries continues to rise. The unit will primarily be used for minimally invasive surgeries, which involve minimal tissue damage and enable faster patient recovery. In particular, arthroscopic joint procedures will be performed here – advanced techniques that allow for effective treatment of injuries and disorders of the musculoskeletal system.
The official opening of the new operating unit took place on the eve of the Christmas holidays. The event was attended by Filya Zhebrovska, Founder of the Zhebrovsky Family Foundation; Stanislava Pleskach, Director of the Foundation; Yurii Poliachenko, Director of the Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics; Serhii Strafun, Head of the Department of Microsurgery and Reconstructive Surgery of the Upper Limb; Volodymyr Biliavskyi, Head of the Upper Limb Reconstructive Microsurgery Unit; and the department’s medical team. Representatives of the Foundation toured the renovated facilities and reviewed the outcomes of the completed project.
“Our Foundation works closely with people every day. We sincerely strive to help, which is why a significant share of our resources is dedicated to supporting medical institutions. I believe this new operating unit will help save lives and restore many patients to a full and active life. Everyone deserves dignified conditions and high-quality medical care. I am deeply convinced that both in business and in philanthropy, the most important thing is to see people. We see people – and we will continue to provide support,” said Filya Zhebrovska.
“On behalf of the entire department, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Zhebrovsky Family Foundation and personally to Ms. Filya Zhebrovska for their genuine care, consistent support, and concrete actions. I believe that Farmak and the Foundation have every reason to be proud of their work,” noted Yurii Poliachenko, Director of the Institute.
Support for healthcare institutions is one of the key focus areas of the Zhebrovsky Family Foundation. Each year, approximately 150 hospitals across Ukraine receive assistance through the Foundation’s programs.
