We are thankful to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for every day of free life. And we must remember the price we get such freedom at.
Viacheslav Yerko is a military serviceman, colonel (awarded posthumously), the commander of an aviation squadron. He is a hero who died on the first day of the full-scale invasion. On February 24, 2022, Viacheslav made four combat sorties protecting the sky over Kyiv.
Only 5 crews of Ukrainian pilots confronted 12 planes and 8 helicopters of the aggressor country. Viacheslav Yerko destroyed two Russian Mi-24 helicopters, one Su-25 jet, and one Su-35 jet in aerial combat.
A museum was opened in memory of Viacheslav in his native school. Viacheslav studied at Specialized School No. 2 in Kyiv, dreamed of being a pilot since he was a child. The museum displays his awards, personal belongings, aircraft fragments, ammunition, etc.
Children should appreciate and remember those whom we owe our lives to.
Our Foundation has been supporting this school for a long time, in particular by helping with repairs. This year, we helped in equipping the lobby where the Hero Museum is located.
May Viacheslav Yerko’s memory and honour live forever.
